Josh Radnor and Jordana Jacobs have welcomed their first child into the world

The How I Met Your Mother star - who is best known for portraying Ted Mosby in the CBS sitcom - took to social media to reveal and he and his clinical psychologist significant other had a baby boy "a few months ago".

He wrote on Instagram: "So my wife and I had a baby a few months ago (!!)"

The 51-year-old actor went on to list what he and Jordana have learned since their little one was born, including that the youngster - whose name is yet to be revealed - is "super observant and thoughtful", and that he loves the word "baba ganoush".

He added: "Here's what we know so far: His smile lights up the room. He's super observant and thoughtful. He gets hypnotized when I play him songs on the guitar. He thinks the word "baba ghanoush" is hysterical.

"He's a total delight and Jordana and I are thrilled he's here. Thanks for all the kind words from @howwemadeyourmother listeners (I dropped the news a few episodes back on the podcast.) (sic)"

Josh also admitted he and Jordana have enjoyed a "wild, beautiful, exhausting, heart-opening initiation" to parenthood.

He added: "Sending love to all my fellow parents of newborns out there.

"What a wild, beautiful, exhausting, heart-opening initiation. So grateful."

Josh and Jordana wed in January 2024, and the actor previously admitted he "loves" married life.

Speaking in November 2024, he told PEOPLE: told People: "It's fantastic. I love it. I love.

"I know you're supposed to say that, but I actually love it.

"I mean, we sometimes don't see each other during the day because of work stuff, so I love waking up together and then reconnecting at the end of the day. And we keep saying, 'Let's catch up. We need to catch up,' so we've been doing a lot of that."
