Leigh-Anne Pinnock wants her twin daughters to "choose if they want to be famous or not"

The former Little Mix girl group member says the "toxicity of social media" caused her and 34-year-old husband, footballer Andre Gray, not to publicly identify their four-year-old bundles of joy, following their birth in August 2021.

Leigh, 34, explained to People: "I remember when they were born, I was going through this online hate thing and really seeing the toxicity of social media.

"I mean, I probably would've still decided to not show their faces anyway, but that just kind of confirmed it for me. I want them to be able to make that decision.

"I want them to be able to [choose] if they want to be famous or not, because once they're out there, they're out there. And I think that's such a big thing.

"It's just a f****** scary place out there."

However, the couple's daughters can be heard at the end of the track Heaven, which closes Leigh's latest album, My Ego Told Me To.

Speaking about the song, she said: "I cry every time [I listen to that song]. Oh, God, it's just so special. It's actually my favourite song of all time, to be honest."

Explaining the reason why Heaven is the final track on My Ego Told Me To, Leigh added: "It's like, 'We've gone through this album. We've gone through all the trials and tribulations it took to get this album across the line and all the struggles in this industry, whatever it is.'

"But actually, all of this is to protect my heaven because that's really all that matters."

Elsewhere, the star - who married Andre in Jamaica in June 2023, seven years after they met in a nightclub in Marbella, Spain - praised her Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson, 34, for being open about her eight-month-old twin daughters, Ocean and Story's rare muscle-wasting disease.

Jesy's daughters - whom she has with her ex-partner, R+B singer Zion Foster - were diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) Type 1 last month.

Leigh - who, with Jesy, was in Little Mix with Jade Thirlwall, 33, and 32 year old Perrie Edwards - said: "We've obviously all reached out and [are] just sending all just love, strength, positivity.

"I just think she's just incredible just to even raise awareness."

She added: "I didn't even know that that was a condition. That should be something that you leave the hospital knowing."
