Auckland Police have described a group of men pulling into a driveway before shooting a victim in Onehunga, then fleeing

A person was shot in the abdomen and critically wounded at an Arthur Street property on Friday morning.

They're now stable in hospital.

Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Bunce says a dark-coloured Toyota van seen pulling up at the Arthur Street address - has been seized.

He says the perpetrators shot the victim through the closed front door, then drove away.

Bunce says CCTV footage and assistance from the public has led to this discovery.
