The family of a Christchurch man stabbed to death hopes his murderer will reflect on her actions

The family of a Christchurch man stabbed to death hopes his murderer will reflect on her actions

Rena Joyce, also known as Rena Maloney, has today been jailed for life for killing Martin Berry at his Main North Road home in January 2021.

Joyce buried Berry in his compost heap - and was convicted of murder at the High Court in Christchurch in March.

Berry's sister Joanna Statham says it's been a hard journey.

She says all they can hope for is that Joyce takes some sort of ownership of what has happened.
