Sofia Richie has congratulated Justin and Hailey Bieber on their pregnancy news

The 25-year-old beauty - who dated Justin in the summer of 2016 - has taken to social media to offer her congratulations to the loved-up couple, who are set to become parents for the first time

In response to Justin and Hailey's announcement, Sofia - who is also expecting her first baby with husband Elliot Grainge - wrote on Instagram: "Ahh! Congratulations. (sic)"

Justin and Sofia - who is the daughter of music star Lionel Richie - only dated for six weeks back in 2016. But the model previously claimed that they had a "special relationship".

Speaking to Billboard at the time, Sofia explained: "Justin is very easy to talk to, and that's hard to find with people in Los Angeles."

Justin, 30, and Hailey, 27, feel that now is the perfect time for them to "take this next step in their lives and relationship".

The loved-up duo tied the knot in 2018, and they've previously spoken about becoming parents one day.

A source told 'Entertainment Tonight': "Hailey and Justin are united and have been on the same page when it comes to parenthood.

"They have experienced so much together as a couple and feel ready to take this next step in their lives and relationship."

What's more, Hailey and Justin are both confident that they'll become great parents.

The insider explained: "Hailey is such a natural caretaker and Justin knows she will be the best mom, and Hailey has always thought that Justin will make an amazing dad. Hailey, Justin, their families and loved ones are so excited for this beautiful blessing."
