Police are working to identify a person, who was killed after being hit by a train in Invercargill last evening

Police are working to identify a person, who was killed after being hit by a train in Invercargill last evening

Emergency Services were called to the Elles Road level crossing just before 5.30.

KiwiRail says the train was carrying coal to Dunedin, and the crossing had bars, warning lights and sounds.

It's the second train collision death in a week, after a Matamata College student was killed on Wednesday.
