Alix Popham, a brain injury advocate diagnosed with Probable CTE in 2020, claims NZR Players Association boss Rob Nichol blames the severity of the injuries on drinking and drug use habits, rather than head knocks.
Popham says the new mouth guard technology in leagues like Super Rugby don't show the full picture.
