Rosalia "struggles so much" with loneliness

The La Perla singer finds it difficult to be alone because she is a "very social person" and she enjoys life more when she has a partner to share it with.

Speaking on the New York TImes' Popcast, she said: "Loneliness is my lesson in this life.

"I struggle so much with feeling lonely. I really don't like loneliness. I'm a very social person. I like to be surrounded by my friends. I like to be surrounded by my family.

"I love having a significant other and sharing with a significant other. I love affection. I think that I always need to believe that there's a possibility of... have faith in love."

The 33-year-old singer admitted she is "too much" of a romantic and her career makes relationships tough.

She said: "I always find myself having to be in a different country that is not where I come from in order to do my job, in order to collaborate with the collaborators that I love to work with, in order to pursue this path.

"I always have to isolate myself so much in order to go through creative process, even with partners."

Rosala noted it is a difficult "balance" to give herself her partner while also pursuing "the music and the art", which can be "so jealous and demanding".

She added: "I think that loneliness is something I really struggle [with] but I'm - it's a learning process."

To combat her loneliness, the Spanish star takes comfort in the music of Nina Simone, taking a bath, eating ice cream, going for a walk and calling her sister.

Rosalia was previously engaged to Puerto Rican star Rauw Alejandro and was romantically linked with Jeremy Allen White last year.

The Beso hitmaker's friend, actress Hunter Schafer, previously revealed they were "once romantically involved" for five months back in 2019 but Rosalia doesn't put "pressure" on herself to define her sexuality for anyone else.

Asked if she feels the need to define her sexuality, Rosalia told America's ELLE magazine in August: "No, I do not pressure myself.

"I think of freedom. That's what guides me."

And while Rosalia had been rumoured to be dating German actor-and-singer Emilio Sakraya, she played down the speculation.

She simply said: "I spend many hours in the studio. I'm in seclusion."
