    More details on a plane crash that killed a 74-year-old man in 2020


    Open Justice reports pilot Nigel Frederickson died when the propeller of his home-built-plane detached during a test flight.

    The Coroner says he died from multiple injuries, as he crashed trying to land at the Otaki Air Strip.

    Rescuers found the retired engineer still in the pilot's seat of the badly damaged aircraft.

    He was pronounced dead at the scene.
