The Prevention of Family and Sexual Violence Minister says a five-year action plan aims to focus government collaboration on the sector

The Prevention of Family and Sexual Violence Minister says a five-year action plan aims to focus government collaboration on the sector

A ministerial advisory group flagged concerns with Karen Chhour in March, saying the work was increasingly falling to community providers due to slow or no police response.

Te Pukotahitanga provides advice to the Minister and Te Puna Aonui -- a group bringing government agencies together on the aim to eliminate family and sexual violence.

Chhour says she's pleased with its work to break down silos across the public service.

The action plan will invest in workforces to ensure people are equipped to assess risk -- with a new technology platform to replace the current family safety system.
