    The trial begins today of a former Wellington school teacher accused of swindling 15-thousand dollars from her elderly mother, before allegedly killing her


    Seventy-nine year old Helen Gregory was found dead at her Khandallah home in January last year, after suffering what Police described as a "violent act".

    Open Justice reports the following month her daughter, Julia DeLuney, was arrested and charged with murder.

    Her trial at the High Court in Wellington is expected to take five weeks.
