Police and members of the Armed Offenders Squad are carrying out a pre-planned search warrant in Bay of Plenty's Maketu this morning

Police and members of the Armed Offenders Squad are carrying out a pre-planned search warrant in Bay of Plenty's Maketu this morning

It's related to investigations into the death of Zain Matenga Taikato Fox, who died from critical injuries last month.

Police say there's little risk to public safety, but residents can expect to see some armed staff, as a precaution.

A section of Maketu Road's closed between Kaituna Road and Wilson Road North - due to cordons.
