    The Coastguard's expecting a busy summer on the water, and urges people to prioritise key safety steps before heading out


    Last summer Coastguard volunteers responded to 1269 incidents, with life-threatening incidents rising by 26 percent.

    It's reminding Kiwis to wear lifejacket's at all times and carry two forms of waterproof communication before getting out on the water.
