Chris Hipkins says this has been a big year - personally and politically

The Labour leader says his personal highlight is his partner saying Yes, when he popped the marriage question in Wellington's Botanic Gardens.

And professionally, he says Labour backing three free GP visits a year was his favourite announcement - which was well-received.

Hipkins describes rebuilding the party over the year - as his biggest challenge.

He says they know they lost the last election, but Kiwis are re-engaging with Labour.
