Kate Winslet has sold her Manhattan penthouse apartment for $5.3 million

The ‘Titanic’ star put the four-bedroom duplex condo on the market six months ago for an asking price of almost $5.7 million but is believed to have finally sold the luxury property at a slight discount

Kate bought the apartment – which is located Manhattan’s artsy and affluent West Chelsea Arts District – nearly 17 years ago with her then-husband Sam Mendes, and the pair forked out $4.995 million for the home at the time.

According to tax records obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Kate bought out Sam’s share of the home in 2012, the year after the pair got divorced.

The penthouse suite comes with four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, as well as features including 13-foot ceilings, whitewashed wide plank oak floors and more than two dozen over-sized windows that frame wrap-around city views.

And the new owner of the home will also be expected to pay almost $7,200 per month in taxes and common charges, according to digital listings held by Douglas Elliman estate agents.

The property measures 3,000 square feet, and comes with a full wall of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, a fireplace, a high-end kitchen, a walk-in closet, a Venetian glass chandelier, and a 1,700 square-foot wrap-around roof deck.

Kate, 45, previously rented out the apartment for a whopping $30,000 per month.

The ‘Mare of Easttown’ actress – who is now married to Edward Abel Smith – also owns a 25-acre getaway in the Catskill Mountains, but primarily lives in the UK in a multi-acre waterfront spread near the scenic seaside community of West Wittering, Sussex.

Kate – who has daughter Mia, 20, with first husband Jim Threapleton, son Joe, 17, with Sam, and son Bear, seven, with Edward – is believed to have bought the UK property in 2011 for its £3.25 million asking price.
