    A wholesale distributor has been found in breach of the Commerce Commission's product safety standard for children's toys


    1st Mart Limited has been fined 55-thousand 250 dollars after small parts of a toy train, were found to be a risk for choking or suffocation.

    The toy's batteries were also accessible, which posed a further risk of serious injury or fatality if swallowed.

    144 units were imported to New Zealand in 2018 and sold by retailers until early 2021.

    This is the second time 1st Mart has been fined for breaching the same standard, they were fined 45-thousand dollars in 2019.
