Goldie Hawn feels "heartbroken" over Quincy Jones' death

The record producer died on Sunday (03.11.24), aged 91, and Goldie has paid a glowing tribute to him, describing Quincy as "one of the great loves of [her] life"

Alongside a throwback photo of them together, Goldie wrote on Instagram: "RIP my darling @quincyjones. I am heartbroken to lose one of the great loves of my life. Sixty years. What a privilege to have known such a remarkable human, a genius, a humanitarian. Damn. I'm gonna miss you. [heart emoji] (sic)"

Goldie, 78, and Quincy were friends for decades, with their working relationship dating back to 1969, when he composed, arranged and conducted the score for 'Cactus Flower'.

Goldie starred alongside Walter Matthau and Ingrid Bergman in the comedy film, and she won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance in the movie.

Quincy's passing was announced by his family on Sunday.

They described Quincy as being a "one of a kind" figure in the entertainment industry.

The family said in a statement: "Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones' passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.

"He is truly one of a kind and we will miss him dearly; we take comfort and immense pride in knowing that the love and joy, that were the essence of his being, was shared with the world through all that he created. Through his music and his boundless love, Quincy Jones' heart will beat for eternity."
