Former All Black Sonny Bill Williams insists faith has played a key role in Moana Pasifika captain Ardie Savea's Super Rugby campaign

Former All Black Sonny Bill Williams insists faith has played a key role in Moana Pasifika captain Ardie Savea's Super Rugby campaign

The loose forward has locked up the competition's best player honour with two rounds of the regular season left, while helping his side sit inside the top-six play-off positions.

Williams is no stranger to the impact of faith on a sporting career, having converted to Islam in 2009.

He claims Savea's Christian values have given him purpose.
