    The South Island's in the firing line for more heavy rain and strong winds


    MetService has issued several warnings and watches for Tasman, the West Coast and central parts of the island.

    Up to 110 millimetres of rain is expected northwest of Motueka today, while a strong wind watch is in place for Marlborough until midday.

    Rain will ease in the Grey and Buller districts early this morning.
