The Black Caps batter hit 14 off 12 balls as Middlesex opened their T20 Blast campaign with a 16-run home defeat to Sussex at Lord's.
Williamson arrived for his four-month stint at the club earlier this week - confirming at a press conference that he will continue on a casual playing contract with New Zealand Cricket.
The news also means the 34-year-old is set to miss the Black Caps' test matches in Zimbabwe in July and August - which departing coach Gary Stead admitted earlier this year was likely to be the case.
The matches are not World Test Championship fixtures.
