    Around a third of New Zealand's population will identify with Asian ethnicities by 2048, according to latest projects from Stats NZ


    Within the Asian group, those identifying as Indian are projected to grow from seven-percent of the population in 2023 to 12-percent in 2048.

    Those identifying as Chinese are expected to increase from six to about eight-percent in the same time.

    Other ethnicities also project above-average growth over the next two decades.
