Our beef exports could fill the gap left by a shortage in US cattle supply

Our beef exports could fill the gap left by a shortage in US cattle supply

The US Department of Agriculture's found cattle on feed numbers fell three percent from January last year to this year - sitting at 11.5 million.

Shortages have driven up prices - with Meat Industry Aotearoa reporting the value on our beef export rose three percent in October to 86 million.

Chief executive Sirma Karapeeva says the high demand and lower supply's expected to remain for the next few years.
