The Drug Foundation says the sector is doing its best despite years of under-funding

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission's new analysis reveals access to specialist services has improved for every age group - except 19-to-24s.

More than 3000-more people accessed services in 2024-25, from the year before.

But Foundation Executive Director Sarah Helm she says significant numbers of people still aren't getting help.

She says almost five-thousand people referred for specialist addiction services were declined.
