    Local Dane Sweeny has beaten the 39-year-old across four sets in the Australian Open first round, as Monfils' grand slam au revoir tour begins.



    Jannik Sinner, Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton have also advanced in the men's draw.

    Naomi Osaka, Belinda Bencic and Elena Rybakina are through in the women's.
