The launch of the Labour Party election campaign is underway in Auckland

The launch of the Labour Party election campaign is underway in Auckland

There's a buzz of excitement at the town hall - with Jacinda Ardern set to make her opening pitch for the election.

Hundreds of Labour supporters are cramming in, no doubt buoyed by the party's rising success in the polls.

The Prime Minister is expected to be introduced by her partner Clarke Gayford, for her speech at 1.30 this afternoon.
