New Zealand's smallest school of four children has opened up again in the Mackenzie Country

New Zealand's smallest school of four children has opened up again in the Mackenzie Country

The school - which has been closed since 2011 due to government cuts - now educates Brendon and Emma Graham's children at Haldon Station near Lake Benmore.

Paige, Jack, Madeline, and Levi even have their own school uniform.

Station Manager Paddy Boyd says it's good to see the farm school being used again, as the nearest public one is 75 kilometres away down a metal road.

The children study via correspondence, but with five other children joining the roll - they're hoping the Ministry will once again supply a teacher. is 75 kilometres down a shingle road.
