    Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin have agreed to start negotiations to end the war in Ukraine "immediately" during a rare phone call between the leaders of the US and Russia.

    It has been three years since Moscow launched its invasion, and the while both the Kremlin and Kyiv have both said they would like peace, a settlement palatable to both sides has been elusive.
