A homicide investigation is underway following the death of a teenage boy in Napier's Onekawa

Police were called to a disorder event on Alexander Avenue just after 3am - where he was found critically injured, and died at the scene.

A second teenager was found seriously injured at a Cottrell Cresent address - but they have since been discharged from hospital.

Detective Inspector Martin James, says a disorder event involving a group on Dinwiddie Avenue may be linked.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw, or took photos or videos of that altercation.

Cordons remain in place - and a scene examination is underway.
