    A blaze has destroyed an Auckland Transport bus in Auckland this evening


    Two fire crews have since put out the bus fire, on the corner of The Drive and Empire Road in Epsom.

    An Auckland Transport spokesperson says the fire broke out on the 295 bus from the City Centre to Ellerslie just after 6 o'clock.

    They say the bus driver did a fantastic job getting everyone off the bus quickly, including someone with accessibility challenges, before the fire engulfed the rest of the vehicle.

    A fire investigator is on site.
