Fifty community groups in Canterbury are set to benefit from more than half a million dollars in funding, by the South Island's most significant community investment fund, the Rata Foundation

The groups range from school and sports groups, to those focusing on environmental and cultural issues, with a focus on participation and creating connections.
Among the recipients, is Christchurch's Youth Hub Trust - receiving 15-thousand dollars - and two-thousand for Catapult Employment Services which supports those with disabilities into work.
