Belief a former Gloriavale leader got away with a light prison sentence - after admitting a raft of sex offences

Belief a former Gloriavale leader got away with a light prison sentence - after admitting a raft of sex offences

Howard Temple was sentenced to 26 months in prison on Friday - after pleading guilty to indecent offending against six girls and young women over two decades.

He has since appealed the sentence and been released on bail.

Barrister Brian Henry says he should get 15 years in prison to prevent this happening again.

He says we have to make it clear to other group leaders that if they offend, they'll be held accountable - and that hasn't happened in this case.
