A central-Auckland hookah bar is under fire from inspectors for selling more shisha than food

A central-Auckland hookah bar is under fire from inspectors for selling more shisha than food

Local Democracy Reporting says Dilruba Lounge's on-license renewal is before the Auckland District Licensing Committee.

One inspector questions why the venue wants to be registered as a restaurant - considering very few people during her visit were eating food.

Another inspector says the lounge lacked a credible restaurant - and only had 10 items on the menu.

Venue owner Parminder Shergill is defending the menu - suggesting patrons may just prefer foods of other restaurants.
