Reports of looting, at weather ravaged farms in the lower part of the South Island

According to the ODT, police have reports about thieves entering farms to see what is lying around and unattended.

They've warned locals at a public meeting in Owaka, urging them to report any suspicious behaviour to police.

Federated Farmers Otago president Luke Kane has described the looters as the lowest of the low.
