The holiday drowning death toll is at two after a man was found dead after going missing in Port Waikato.
A five year old was retrieved from the water following the incident involving a jet ski.
It came after a person was swept from rocks south of West Auckland's Piha beach.
Water Safety Chief Executive Glen Scanlon says it's part of a large number for December.
He says 13 people have drowned this summer.
