    Two Christchurch men accused of separate murders will most likely spend Christmas behind bars


    51-year-old David Benbow and 26-year-old Joshua Morris-Bamber have appeared at the High Court in Christchurch this morning to apply for bail.

    Benbow's accused of murdering Michael McGrath - who disappeared without a trace in May 2017.

    Morris-Bamber's accused of killing Rakaia farm worker Tony Waldon in September.

    The Judge has reserved his decision on granting Morris-Bamber bail - to be released sometime next week.

    Benbow's application has been adjourned to February 11.
