A massive spike in calls to Police's 10-5 non-emergency number - with requests for advice on covid rules and reporting breaches

A Police spokesperson says on Sunday they had 3746 calls - about a 1000 more than normal.

They are telling callers to go to the Government or police websites with covid queries.

The spokesperson says the 10-5 line is busiest on Mondays - and says people can also easily report non emergency matters online any time.
