A former Russell McVeagh partner guilty of misconduct has been suspended from practising law for two years by a disciplinary tribunal

A former Russell McVeagh partner guilty of misconduct has been suspended from practising law for two years by a disciplinary tribunal

James Gardner Hopkins was found guilty of six charges last June, including for inappropriately touching interns at work functions in 2015.

His suspension will begin in February, and he's been ordered to pay just under 65 thousand dollars costs to the Law Society's Standards Committee.

Five charges related to his behaviour at the law firm's Christmas party, and the sixth to his behaviour at a firm function held at his home.
