Auckland home values have taken a hit in council valuations, but some areas bucked the trend

Auckland home values have taken a hit in council valuations, but some areas bucked the trend

New capital values are out for 630-thousand properties across the region - becoming available for residents from today.

On average residential homes dropped nine percent from CVs released in 2021.

Properties closer to the city centre had bigger falls, of about 13 percent.

Auckland Council Chief Financial Officer Ross Tucker says some areas, didn't see a decrease in value.

He says Rodney's held its value with no change since 2021 and Great Barrier saw an increase of 38 percent.
