    It can now be revealed the man sentenced to life in prison last week for murdering an elderly Christchurch women, had killed before


    76-year-old mental health patient and gardener Elliott Cameron admitted to killing 83-year-old Frances Phelps at her Mount Pleasant home in October.

    The recent lifting of a 50-year-old suppression order shows Cameron had also admitted to shooting his 21-year-old brother in the 70s.

    He was found not guilty on the grounds of insanity, after an earlier brain tumor operation left him 'changed'.

    Phelps' daughter Karen says they wouldn't have welcomed him into their lives had they'd known his history.
