Police and navy divers will continue to search the water off Whakaari White Island, for the two people still missing

Another person died at the weekend in a Sydney hospital, taking the death toll to 16.

Police teams were on the island yesterday, but returned with no sightings of a body.

Deputy Police Commissioner Mike Clement says each time they go to the island, they learn something more about what happened last Monday.

He says they put that together with witness statements, along with the imagery, to create a picture of what happened.
