    Rural hospitals are gearing up for increased demand this summer


    The Rural GP Network says Covid planning is underway ahead of Tamaki Makaurau's border lifting from December 15.

    Aucklanders will only be allowed to leave the region if they're fully vaccinated, or have tested negative 72-hours before departure.

    Chief Executive Grant Davidson says rural hospitals are moving quickly to get Covid-19 procedures in place.

    He says rural hospitals near tourist destinations are particularly concerned about the potential increase of Covid-infected tourists.
