Twenty-five Auckland City Hospital patients have been told they had an STI when they didn't

Twenty-five Auckland City Hospital patients have been told they had an STI when they didn't

Six of those patients still don't know it yet.

Health New Zealand's told RNZ the false positive results were from tests carried out in its internal lab, from Friday May 23 to Wednesday June 4.

It says the mistake was identified, after questions over one result prompted staff to investigate.

No patients were told they did NOT have an STI, when they did.
