The June quarter Westpac McDermott Miller Consumer Confidence index rose two points - to 91.2.
Anything below 100 indicates a pessimistic view.
Senior Economist Satish Ranchhod says cost of living pressures continue to knock confidence.
He says large increases for essentials like food and utilities are a big concern, especially for those on lower incomes.
