Stanley Tucci will be part of NBC's coverage of the Winter Olympics

The 64-year-old actor is set to report on the food, culture and lifestyle in Lombardy, the Italian region where the 2026 Winter Olympics are being staged

NBCUniversal said: "During primetime, Tucci will present travelogue-style segments highlighting the food, traditions, and history of the regions hosting the Winter Olympics."

The movie star also teased his role in a video message.

In the clip, Stanley asks: "You rolling?

"You know where else we're going to be rolling very soon? In Italy, at the Milan Cortina Olympics, right here on NBC. So, please join me for prime time in Milan. There'll be great food, great drink and, of course, incredible competition. I'm looking forward to it. I hope you are, too."

Stanley hosted the food and travel documentary series Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy in 2021 and 2022. And the actor admits that he can't wait to return to Italy for the upcoming Olympics.

Stanley - whose family are of Italian heritage - said: "It's been my passion to learn about the people of Italy by traversing the country and savouring its food.

"But this time, I'll have a guest with me - the world. I'm excited to return to northern Italy as the Olympic Games brings the world to its doorstep.

"What foods will the world fall in love with? What favourites will be uncovered? How will Italy transform with the world as its guest? I'm excited to share it all with the American primetime audience in February."

Molly Solomon, the ex ecutive producer of NBC Olympics, is also thrilled to be working with the award-winning actor.

Molly said in a statement: "America has an affinity for all things Italian, and with his string of hit shows and best sellers, Stanley's now the it guy on Italian culture in our country.

"His mix of cool curiosity and masterful storytelling makes him the perfect guide to dish on northern Italy's culinary and cultural treasures. We can't wait for him to make America hungry in primetime."
