Camila Morrone was "in awe" of Al Pacino as a child

The 28-year-old star's mother, Argentine actress Lucila Sola, dated the Hollywood legend between 2008 and 2018 and she feels that she was "fortunate" to grow up "in the presence" of the acting titan - who she calls her 'stepfather' even though The Godfather star was never married to her mother.

Camila told The Times newspaper: "How lucky am I to have known him and to have been raised in his presence.

"I mean, he's the (Lionel) Messi of my industry.

"I think I'll always look back on my childhood and be in awe that I was in the presence of someone like him."

Meanwhile, Camila stars opposite Tom Hiddleston in the second season of TV show The Night Manager and expressed delight that "men are eating out of her hands" in the programme - where she portrays Colombian businesswoman Roxana Bolanos.

She told The Sun newspaper: "As women, we're very good and intuitive at knowing who we have to be, and when and at what time, and then switching - being these chameleons.

"My character's this hustler, she's the smartest person in any room, which I love, and she has all the men eating out of the palm of her hand.

"It was really great to figure out what her motivation was in playing with the big guys."

Morrone - who previously dated movie star Leonardo DiCaprio - revealed that she was a big fan of The Night Manager before being cast in the show.

She recalled: "I'm supposed to be doing my lines, and instead I'm binge-watching all six episodes, which ended up paying off in the long run."

Camila previously appeared in the musical drama series Daisy Jones and the Six in the role of Camila Alvarez and revealed that she was hoping for a second season of the show, even though the storylines were tied up at the conclusion of the 10 episodes.

She told E! News: "We all want it. Listen, I think we're all so proud of the work that we did. I think that we had an incredible first season.

"There's a lot of story left that could be told.

"It moves a lot of people. It was a really beautiful show. We're just grateful to keep going on this ride and still be here talking about it, representing it."
