The man infamously known as the Beast of Blenheim has had his appeal quashed

The man infamously known as the Beast of Blenheim has had his appeal quashed

72-year-old Stuart Murray Wilson had challenged his latest convictions alongside his sentence for historical offending.

At a High Court trial last year, he was found guilty of rapes dating back to the 1970s and 80s ... of a woman; and a then 9-year-old girl; and of the attempted rape of a third woman

On appeal, Wilson claimed the Crown had abused judicial process by charging him - in spite of a stay on proceedings by the Attorney-General nearly two decades earlier.

But the Court of Appeal today dismissed the appeal, stating Wilson received a fair trial, despite the delay.
