A Motueka company has been fined almost 110-thousand dollars for unsafely removing asbestos

A Motueka company has been fined almost 110-thousand dollars for unsafely removing asbestos

Bays Boating appeared in the Nelson District Court today, after they demolished a building in 2018 that was known to have asbestos.

About 220 people die of asbestos-related disease each year in New Zealand.

WorkSafe says it's unacceptable not to remove asbestos safely, given the known danger.
