Hope more tourism businesses in hard-hit Queenstown will benefit from government funding

AJ Hackett Bungy will get up to 10.2 million dollars of Covid-19 recovery support.

It's part of the 400 million dollar Tourism Sector Recovery Package.

Queenstown Mayor Jim Boult says no one could argue the bungy company - which started in the late 80s - isn't an iconic part of the region.

But he says so are many other local businesses who applied for funding.

Boult says hopefully this will let more of them weather the post-Covid storm.
