A Porirua principal is slamming what he says was a poorly organised roll-out of devices and internet for students

A Porirua principal is slamming what he says was a poorly organised roll-out of devices and internet for students

Newly-released Ministry of Education figures show, a month after the country moved out of the first lockdown, fewer than half of students identified as needing an internet connection were online.

Figures in August showed 70-thousand students in need of a device still hadn't got one.

Natone Park School principal Daryl Aim is worried his students' learning will suffer in another lockdown.

He says the Ministry should still be working with schools to identify the level of need for internet and devices.

The Ministry says, based on funding available, they prioritised NCEA students over primary schools.
