Kaikoura businesses are smiling ear-to-ear with the reopening of the Coastal Pacific railway

Kaikoura businesses are smiling ear-to-ear with the reopening of the Coastal Pacific railway

The train journey between Picton and Christchurch is hitting the tracks for the summer season today.

Alpine-Pacific Holiday Park manager Elise Alcock says passengers will bring a much needed boost to the town after a rough slowdown of visitors from Covid-19.

Cafes in the town say the trains will bring a much needed new wave of business.
